I’ve been quiet for a long time… maybe too long.
Not because I didn’t have dreams. Not because I lacked vision.
But because I didn’t fully believe I was ready to be seen. And somewhere deep down… I didn’t believe I deserved to be seen.
The truth is, I’ve been hiding in the shadows of “almost.”
I’ve built businesses behind the scenes, designed graphics, brainstormed offers, mapped out websites, bought domains…
But when it came to launching, really launching, I froze.
Not because I was lazy. But because I was scared.
➦ Fear of criticism.
➦ Fear of getting it wrong.
➦ Fear of being seen too early, too loud, or too imperfect.
And let’s be real: that fear didn’t appear out of nowhere.
I grew up being picked apart. Told to tone it down. Taught that visibility meant vulnerability… and vulnerability meant pain.
So I learned to play small. To be impressive but invisible. Safe, but not fully expressed.
But recently, something cracked open.
It started with a blog prompt from Sadie Smiley – Step Into Your Leadership, and a deep session with my coach (yep… even coaches have coaches). That conversation unearthed something I hadn’t realized I was still carrying:
“What if hiding isn’t actually safe?” “What if it’s just slowly stealing your belief… in yourself, in your work, and in the impact you’re meant to make?”
That landed like a truth-bomb in my chest. And from that moment, I chose a word to lead me forward:
BELIEVE.
➥ Believe that I don’t have to be perfect to begin.
➥ Believe that courage grows in motion.
➥ Believe that my voice matters, even before it’s polished.
This blog, this post, this business ~ Cairn House Consulting… isn’t just a project.
It’s a promise.
A promise to serve women who’ve spent too long doing everything for everyone else.
Women who’ve been told to stay small.
Women who are finally asking, “What about me?”
And if that’s you… I see you. I’m with you. Let’s stop hiding and start building.
So this is my true beginning. I don’t have all the answers… but I do have the fire back.
And that’s enough to take the next step.
